Our Mission
Urban Entomology Program Director
Dr. Michael Rust, Ph.D.
Professor of Entomology
His investigations center on developing principles and practices contributing to effective pest management in and around homes, apartments, commercial buildings, and museums.
Major areas of research include the behavior, physiological ecology, and insecticide resistance of urban insect pests and factors influencing the action of insecticides.
Additional emphasis focuses on non-chemical control approaches such as structural modifications, cultural and biological control, and the use of controlled atmospheres and extreme temperatures to control household and museum pests.
